There is rarely a puzzle that you can’t solve but comfort is key – with decadent foods, tantalising surroundings and stimulating conversations.

The Diplomat,

Bringing comfort, and depth to every moment — steady, thoughtful, and effortlessly grounded.

A life designed for comfort and flow

By nature, Diplomats are dependable, easy-going, and enjoy pleasurable experiences. You do well with a predictable, patterned routine and, when motivated by a fierce desire, your focus and discipline allows you to achieve any goals you set.

You enjoy learning and will obey the rules unless the rules prevent your enjoyment. You are a dependable employee and friend, are easy to get along with and, with your enduring sense of fairness and your ability to recognize and honor various points of view, are a natural mediator and manager.

Your body is built to resist harsh circumstances and you may notice that you have less sensitivity to pain than others. You are extremely resilient, don’t often complain about being sick and weak, and are rarely bothered by small things. You can lift weights easily, and have the potential for exceptional endurance. Often your physical strength is matched by mental strength and endurance too!

The power of taking your time

It can be hard for a Diplomat these days though, the world keeps rushing by getting faster and smaller and can sometimes cause stress for you who loves to go at your own pace, have time to take it all in, and carefully ponder over decisions before you make them.

Your body is naturally built for slower mornings, so you can plan and organise your day and then get really productive when lunchtime comes around but that isn’t always how the rest of society wants to work, so it’s important to know what suits you best – and then you can really optimise your potential.

If you ever feel like you’re not getting the most out of every day, or if you’re feeling stuck or just missing ‘something’… the good news is that finding complete satisfaction is simple and can be almost effortless when you know what’s right for you.

What your biology reveals
about you

How do we know this? It’s in your body.

Science can recognize how your body developed from the womb which, in turn, allows us to understand how your body naturally functions.

As an embryo develops, one of the germ layers (through gastrulation) may become more dominant, influencing which organs are strongest, and which neurotransmitters and hormones will be most prevalent.

The germ layers that developed with predominance in your case were the endoderm and ectoderm. The bronchi, lungs, the digestive tube composed of the pancreas, liver, thymus and prostate, the pharynx and thyroid develop from the endoderm layer. The ectoderm leads to the development of the neural tube (brain and spinal cord), the neural crest and the outer epithelium of the body (the skin).

This focus on the gut tube means that you tend to have a more efficient metabolism – your body naturally knows how to make the most of the energy you ingest and doesn’t waste any of it. In fact, it’s true talent is conserving energy – storing it for you for rainy days to deal with any unexpected circumstances that may arise.

In years gone by this would have been drought, famine or plagues but these days we rarely see these disastrous events but the human body has not yet evolved to reflect the change in our lifestyle and so those extra nutrients often stay stored as fat.

The development focus on your nervous system may also mean that your system can stay on alert, with lots of ruminating thought (sometimes as procrastination) and even a sensitivity to sounds, stress and other external stimuli.

LIFESTYLE

A healthy body just makes life even better

As a Diplomat, you have the body that was revered as god-like by the ancients. Long, strong and enduring. You’re a natural adventurer so boring activities won’t sit well with you and it’s best to avoid exercises that may lead to injury to the connective tissue in your knees or ankles.

However not only is it what you do, but how, when and where you do it that makes the difference between a healthy lifestyle and an optimized life. Knowing your unique chronobiological, social and environmental needs allow you to achieve your ultimate performance in the most efficient way.

Going for a long lunch with a friend, meeting for a decadent brunch, or catching up for a relaxed breakfast is a great, healthy way to enjoy the foods you eat – then it’s just a matter of choosing the right things from the menu.

You physically have the longest gut of all HealthTypes so it takes time to digest. Give yourself a good 5-6 hours between meals so your body has time to digest, retrieve those nutrients and then be good to go again for the next meal.

Just knowing and understanding the simple fact that snacking or having 5-6 small meals in a day (although it’s great for some bodies) is NOT great for you, can be life-changing.
